The Metaverse, of course. It’s highly likely that you’ve heard the phrase being used. It is currently all the rage, along with other similarly perplexing-sounding concepts like Web3, crypto, NFT, and blockchain. It might also be the future of things like art, entertainment, and even education, depending on who you ask.

What does ‘Metaverse’ mean?
You wouldn’t be far off if you said that the Metaverse sounded like something from science fiction. Neal Stephenson first used the term “metaverse” in his science fiction book Snow Crash from 1992.
The Metaverse, however, now has a new significance. It’s better to think of it as a network of three-dimensional virtual worlds or as an immersive virtual world. The Metaverse, which is both synthetic and a place where people may engage in real time, is a location where the actual and virtual worlds collide. Virtual reality and augmented reality are frequently used in it.

Is it safe to be in the Metaverse?
The Metaverse is physically safe, yes—unless you spend too much time there and become unhealthy or something.
It should be noted, though, that there have been numerous reports of users in Horizon, Meta’s own Metaverse platform, being virtually harassed and assaulted. Although the Metaverse platforms are physically secure, what happens in a virtual world can have real-world psychological repercussions.
